It's a challenging time to be a Christian woman. With 24/7 access to social media, social unrest, and addiction and mental health challenges on the rise, we can feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and burned out. It is critical to take care of our emotional and mental health in order to serve our families and those we love. The following presentation will define self-care and the importance of developing systems of sustained wellness. It will discuss barriers we may have to taking care of ourselves and will outline patterns that lead to exhaustion and overwhelm. It will discuss emotional wellness techniques, habits, and tangible strategies we can implement to increase our gratitude and joy. Reflection and discussion are encouraged!

Dr. Jennifer Londgren is a licensed marriage and family therapist, a nationally certified counselor, and a board certified telemental health provider. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Science at Minnesota State University, Mankato where she is the Program Coordinator for the Alcohol and Drug Studies Program. Dr. Londgren has practiced clinical mental health therapy in the Mankato area for more than 10 years and has a clinical focus on women's issues, addiction, couples counseling, and anxiety. She also leads trainings at the local and national level on topics of wellness, mental health, resilience, self-care, and innovative teaching techniques. She is the author of two books, and she lives in Mankato with her husband Trevor and their four children: Jack, Kate, Anna, and Henry.
